Cheyenne Shelby-Petersen

Cheyenne "Chey" is an experienced community-centric fundraiser dedicated to justice, equity, and radical love. As the Fundraising Relationship Manager at Common Future, she develops and implements strategies to build and maintain relationships with current and prospective donors, leveraging data-driven approaches to strengthen connections.

Previously, Chey served as the Director of Development and Communications at Chicago Cares, where she transformed the culture of philanthropy and corporate social responsibility in Chicago and led volunteer initiatives advancing Quality of Life Plan goals in Chicago's South, West, and Northwest neighborhoods.

Chey is a proud alum of the Brava Leader Institute, where she honed her leadership skills for multicultural, multi-racial institutions. Earlier in her career, Chey served as a Starbucks Foundation Service Fellow, an experience that launched her into the social impact sector.

Outside of work, Chey enjoys time with her husband and two toddlers, rollerblading, practicing yoga, and listening to audiobooks with a hot cup of tea.
