Joi is the Manager of Storytelling and Insights at Common Future. Her work is focused on researching, growing, and producing the pipeline of products for Common Future’s influence strategy. Before joining Common Future, Joi held positions on both the Business Development and Thought Leadership teams for Uncharted, a social acceleration incubator focused on tackling economic inequality in the United States. Joi strategized funding efforts and nurtured valued partnerships to streamline a more equitable economy for marginalized communities.

In previous roles, Joi has managed intersectional food justice rescue programs for children with Feeding America, led DEI and humanitarian aid missions focusing on girls’ education, maternal-child health, and preservation and cultivation of indigenous land with UNICEF Peru and the United States Peace Corps Morocco, and also developed major cultivation efforts and gender development projects on behalf of Michelle Obama’s Let Girls Learn Initiative through a partnership with the US Department of State. Joi also has a long history of community activism and education, including work alongside City Year, Amnesty International, and the United Way.

Joi is a Tallahassee, FL native and received her Bachelor’s degree in Nonprofit Management from the University of North Florida. Outside of Common Future, Joi consults educators in developing neurodiverse early childhood social-emotional development curriculum, cherishes time spent with her community, and exercises her creativity in the kitchen and in her (personal) traveling art studio.
